Impeding Justice

Author: Mel Comley
Published: 2010
Pages: 295
Genre: Thriller/Suspense
Pinky's Rating (out of 5): 4 stars

We are plunged head on into the story of Detective Inspector Lorne Simpkins as she battles her nemesis, The Unicorn.

After loosing her partner DS Pete Childs when they are lured into a trap, Lorne has to find a way to keep one step ahead of The Unicorn. It is only when she enlists the help of Tony Warner of MI6, things start to fall into place. There is a Mole in the ranks. Not to be perturbed by his inside help being sprung, The Unicorn continues to find ways to inflict emotional pain and suffering on Lorne... he starts to involve her family.

If you are looking for a novel that is going to get your attention and then leave you wanting more, then this is it.

Mel Comley has woven a story of murder, terrorism, rape and kidnap with just a hint of innuendo (with Pathologist Jacques Arnaud) into a compelling story, and just when you think Lorne has taken all she can, she is plunged even further into hell with one final twist, that leaves me rushing to purchase Final Justice.
