As I mentioned in my preliminary thoughts, this is not your average vampire love story, and the remarkable Jayde Scott takes the paranormal fantasy theme to a whole new level.
Amber lands herself a summer job as the housekeeper at the Scottish estate of Aidan McAllister. Amber is enamoured by Aidan as soon as they meet, but who wants to get involved with their boss. Aidan however is determined to make Amber his own, but why?
Late one night while assisting her brother Dallas, with another of his get rich quick schemes, Amber unwittingly becomes involved in a paranormal race. A race that is organised by a succubus demi-goddess every 500 years. A race that Aidan as well as every other paranormal being is determined to win, and is willing to kill for. A race that Amber; a mortal wins, and the coveted first prize; the ability to communicate with the dead.
After striking many deals with the enemy Amber, Aidan and our supporting cast of paranormal beings (including Lucifer's daughter), embark on a journey to recover what everyone is after, and only Amber has the ability to retrieve.
Just who ends up with the ultimate prize, and why is the chemistry between Amber and Aidan so strong? You will just have to read A Job from Hell yourself to find out. I'm glad I did.
