Warrior Unleased

Welcome to the official cover reveal of Warrior Unleashed, book 1.5 in the Mythrian Realm series! When Breaking the Nexus released on 12/12/12, readers fell in love with the Mythrian Realm and clamored for more. Since the follow up, Waking the Phoenix won’t be ready until sometime this summer, I knew I had to give readers a taste of Mythria.
Warrior Unleashed, a novella featuring Sha’s half brother, will be released on May 7! This novella is set entirely in the Mythrian Realm and while the hero and heroine are not Sha and Connor, I think you’ll all fall in love with this couple. Find out what happens when the sexy panther Chimerae, Achaius Rilke, must team up with feisty Gaelen Sorceri Saia Makan in this action packed novella!
Without further ado, I present the gorgeous cover designed by Blue Harvest Creative!

Nothing is more dangerous than a warrior unleashed.
When Sentinels begin dying under mysterious circumstances, the deaths are believed to be unrelated. Only one man sees the truth: an unknown enemy is targeting the elite group of warriors and no one is safe. As a panther Chimerae, Achaius Rilke recognizes the signs of an unpredictable predator. The only person he can trust is Saia Makan, the tempestuous Sorceri who has driven him crazy for years. But when the killer has set his sights on Saia, Achaius faces the hunt of his life.

Don’t miss the first book, Breaking the Nexus, available now on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and in paperback!

A warrior trying to save humans. A detective searching for a killer. And a powerful romance neither expected.
Throughout history, myths and legends of extraordinary creatures have been told and retold. Fantastic tales of demons and banshees, gryphons and dragons, and of course, magic. Stories that every child grows to learn are nothing more than fantasy…or are they?
Beyond the world you see lies a hidden realm, the Mythrian Realm, inhabited by all of the creatures you’ve been told are mere fiction. Only one thing lies between humans and the truth: the Nexus. A magical barrier erected millennia ago to separate the two realms, it has stood the test of time. Until now.
For Mythrian Sha Phoenix, magic is nothing new. But when she stumbles upon a portal on the verge of collapse, her fate will forever change. Pulled through the portal into the Human Realm, she lands in the middle of Detective Connor Flynn’s brutal murder scene. Soon it is obvious someone is using blood magic to try to bring down the Nexus. Together, Connor and Sha must work to unravel the secrets before the barrier falls and the realms collide.
The Nexus is breaking and all hell is about to unleash…literally.

Meet Lindsay Avalon!

I am a wife, a programmer, and now an author. I have an adorable mini Schnauzer and more books than I have room for. I love reading romance because no matter what may be happening in my life, I can always count on my books to end happily ever after. The day I met my husband was the day I truly began believing in happily ever after. After hearing me complain a few too many times that I had “nothing” to read despite the hundreds of paperbacks scattered around the house, my husband began suggesting I write my own stories. When I finally took his advice I discovered that although I enjoy my day job as a software engineer, my true calling is to be an author.
My sister drilled into me an appreciation for fantasy and mythology, something I try to bring to my books. My debut novel, Breaking the Nexus started as a book written for NaNoWriMo and has grown to so much more. It was the conduit that introduced me to a fantastic group of independent authors who have changed my life in unimaginable ways.
When I’m not writing, I’ve found a passion for blogging and interviewing fellow authors. I also love reading, baking, crochet, sewing sock monkeys, playing video games, and all sorts of random crafts. I have an incurable love of rubber duckies and stuffed animals, and I believe nobody should have to grow up if they don’t want.

Witchwood Estate - Ferntree Falls

Author: Patti Roberts

Genre: YA Paranormal
Pinky's Rating (out of 5): 5 dragonflies

Book Description
Going Home shouldn't be so difficult. After twelve years away, Seventeen year old Alexandria Santorini has gone home to Ferntree Falls to claim her inheritance - Witchwood Estate - The home she grew up in and where her parents were murdered.

But there is something very evil lurking in the woods around Ferntree Falls that is quite content in making Alexandria's life more complicated than she ever imagined.

Whimsical, "TV" length episodes in an ongoing series. Witches, spells, ghosts, sprites, shape-shifters, wolves and more... For all those young at heart... An equal measure of both Magic and Evil.

Grab your broomstick/dustbuster out of the closet and come along for the ride!

My Thoughts
This is Book 2 in the new Witchwood Estate Series by Patti Roberts.
Alexandria is now home in Ferntree Falls, and things are starting to happen that aren't quite what they seem.
We are introduced to Raymond and Vera the caretakers of Witchwood Estate and a few other characters whose stories start to intertwine.
In true Patti Roberts style the characters in this book jump off the page and draw you into their story as you are swept along for the ride.  I can't wait for Book 3 to continue this delightfully enchanting story.

The Disciple

Author: Simon Hay
Published: 15 February 2013
Genre: Biography
Pinky's Rating (out of 5): 5 dragonflies

Book Description
The Disciple is a compelling biography about Jesus' birth, childhood and death. Simon Hay, after a life-altering encounter with spirit, revisits and remembers his past life as the disciple, Judas, and his role in Jesus' life. Simon's story will amaze and challenge 2,000 years of belief.

My Thoughts
This book encompasses areas of both Simon's life, as well as his 'trancing's' with spirit, and it is through these 'trances' that we learn about the real Jesus.
As a person who was brought up first attending Sunday School and then Church Services, I always felt that the story of Jesus, as told to us by ministers and through readings in the Bible, was a good story. But that is all I thought it was, a story. It wasn't until I got to the following paragraph in Simon's book, that I realised the full meaning of what I had always thought.
"From Jesus, I know he did not come to be the catalyst to start the catholic faith. He had no intention to build churches or any house of worship. He did not want priests to spread His words. He did not want his Father's message translated in a book. He came as an example of how to live, how to love, and how to forgive."
How profound these words are.

I quickly realised that yes, what the religious scholars wish us to believe, is not actually the complete truth. The Bible does not fully convey the human nature of Jesus, Joseph and Mary, as well as the other Disciples. To me it wasn't until I started reading The Disciple that I came to realise these people were in fact, not that dissimilar to us. They laughed, they cried, they felt pain, both physically and emotionally when they were hurt or somebody in their life died.
Yes there are going to be some who read this review and think "Well that's a load of codswallop". But before you tune out completely, take a chance and pick up this book and read it, keep an open mind and be open to new thoughts and ideas. You never know, you might just realise that what you always thought to be true may not entirely be.
In the coming weeks, I will be posting an Interview with the truly wonderful Simon Hay so stay tuned !

Tristan's Lyceum Wolves

Author: Kym Grosso
Published: 1 April 2013
Genre: Erotic Paranormal Romance
Pinky's Rating (out of 5): 5 dragonflies

Book Description
Charismatic and powerful Lyceum Wolves’ Alpha, Tristan Livingston, is out for revenge after a devastating attack on his pack. Not only did he survive a building collapse, he orchestrated the rebuild of his chic, state-of-the-art nightclub within a week. Determined to mete out justice, he rescues a beautiful witness who may be the key to helping him find the perpetrators.
Dr. Kalli Williams, dedicated veterinarian, is hiding a secret that endangers not only her own life but the lives of wolves across the country. After being tortured by a savage vampire, she’s reluctantly agrees to help the sexy Alpha in his quest to identify suspects; ones who’d kill her on the spot if they knew she existed. As Kalli places herself in the hands of the dominant wolf, she soon finds she wants nothing more than to submit.
Tristan, committed to ruling his pack as a lone wolf, is inexplicably drawn to the mysterious and enticing woman, who seems more than human, but not quite supernatural. As he discovers her secret, he teaches her the meaning of trust, helping her learn how to be true to her nature. After living a lifetime alone, will he succumb to the visceral need to claim her, acknowledging the soul binding connection between an Alpha and his mate? And will he prevail against the menacing enemy who threatens to destroy Lyceum Wolves?

My Thoughts
After falling in love with Kym's other leading men Kade and Luca, I was excited to read Tristan's story.
When we first meet Tristan he is reeling from an attack on his pack, and keen to find out who is behind it. When he is led to Kalli Williams, who at first meeting is considered a suspect, he is drawn to her for reasons he is unable to explain but his right hand man already knows.
It is fast paced, and has plenty of hot steamy scenes. We are introduced to another strong alpha male and an even stronger alpha female who makes this story so enjoyable.
I laughed and cried as their journey together goes through a roller coaster of emotions onto a tumultuous ending that leaves you breathless and wanting more.
I can't wait to meet the next Immortal of New Orleans.

A world rich in magic and intrigue, Eternal Island is the first instalment of a saga which has love at its core and delves through the mire that is human nature in a turmoil of feeling and emotion.
