Pinky's Rating (out of 5): 5 dragonflies
For years, the truth has been concealed from Grace, masked cleverly by coercion, denial and fanciful stories. She'd always felt that there was a part of her that didn't resonate with this world, as if she were a square block in a round hole. When her father died, it was her mother's unconditional love, Wade's fatherly presence, and Angela, Grace's quirky neighbor that gave her strength. United, they were her beacon, the lighthouse that guided her in from the storm. That was until she learned the truth … And the truth, Grace discovered, regardless of what she'd been told, does not always set you free.
Make no mistake, the Grigori is the Original Vampire, and regardless of what you believe, they are here, walking among us, and they intend to stay.
Regular readers of my blog will know that I am a BIG BIG fan of Patti Roberts, so when I was given the opportunity to be one of the first people to read the next instalment in the Paradox Series, I jumped at the chance.
In true Patti Roberts style, we are bombarded with a visual feast, with detail beyond imagining. You will find yourself drawn into the ancient world, the Bulgardi, Grigori, the Bakhna Rakhna people and others, as their story is woven seamlessly into Grace's.
In Equilibrium, we continue with the story of Grace, but now thing have gotten real. Grace has been told some of the truth about those around her and just who she is.
Juliette does not play as big a part of the story in Equilibrium, as she did in Bound By Blood, and I felt a kind of loss at her lack of presence. However, there are still a lot of things for Grace to discover and I can't wait to find out what happens next.
