Book Description
The circus lies behind Micah Grey in dust and ashes.
He and the white clown, Drystan, take refuge with the once-great magician, Jasper Maske. When Maske agrees to teach them his trade, his embittered rival challenges them to a duel which could decide all of their fates. People also hunt both Micah and the person he was before the circus–the runaway daughter of a noble family. And Micah discovers there is magic and power in the world, far beyond the card tricks and illusions he’s perfecting…
A tale of phantom wings, a clockwork hand, and the delicate unfurling of new love, Shadowplay continues Micah Grey’s extraordinary journey.

My Thoughts
I was drawn into this story from the very first page.

Even though this is the continuation of the story of Micah Grey that starts in Pantomime, I did not feel disadvantaged in any way because I had not read the first book.

Shadowplay is a story in itself that is full of magic and mystery.

I felt especially drawn to Micah and the struggles faced by this teen when adversity strikes. A beautifully written story that tells stories of both old and new as we are drawn into Penglass and the life of Anisa.

This is an extremely well researched and written story that will entertain both the young and the young at heart.

I am looking forward to the next installment to read the continuing story of Drystan and Micah. .

I must acknowledge the author and publishers for my ARC copy of Shadowplay.
